It’s been a busy 12 months for Alex, who’s part of our consumer PR team working on a portfolio of clients that includes Duerr’s, Swizzels, TGI Fridays Cocktails and Slush Puppie Pouches.
Keen to develop her skills in strategy and planning across PR and digital, Alex decided to undertake a year-long postgraduate course in her free time at Manchester Metropolitan University. The intense course saw Alex give up a lot of her leisure time and required her to undertake several hefty projects, all aimed at giving her practical experience to develop her skills.
For her PR module on campaign planning, Alex chose to focus on fashion retailer New Look. Sheer focus and determination saw her bag a lengthy chat with executive chairman Alistair McGeorge, to get the inside track on the business. From this and other research, Alex produced a comprehensive report that included an analysis of the main challenges faced by the retailer; PR objectives; key messages; a PR campaign to re-engage stakeholders and consumers; and proposed methods of evaluation. Needless to say, she scored top marks for this impressive piece of work.
Another module saw Alex prepare a digital and social media strategy for one of our own clients, Earthed, which produces Irish linens featuring amazing designs. Her detailed content and marketing plan was aimed at raising brand awareness and driving visitors to the brand’s website.
It was all work and no play for a while but the hard work has certainly paid off as Alex is now the proud holder of a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Relations and Digital Communications. Naturally, her new skillset will be put to good use at RMS!
The celebrations don’t stop there. Due to her continued hard work and commitment, we are delighted to announce Alex’s deserved promotion from Senior Account Executive to Account Manager.
