A relaxing branding project

The Brief

RMS was tasked with coming up with a name and visual identity for a new spa located within the much-anticipated revamped Move Altrincham Leisure Centre.

Activity

RMS began the branding process by hosting a brand workshop with multiple stakeholders from Trafford Leisure, including the new spa manager and head of commercial. All aspects of the new spa were discussed including the facilities on offer, value proposition and customer personas.

Following the workshop, we undertook desk research about competitor spas and considered dozens of potential names.

We presented a shortlist of names, along with a clear rationale behind each. The Cove, which happened to be our personal favourite, was an outright winner. Our client agreed that the name conjures up images of a serene space away from chaos – a retreat and private escape.

Name agreed, our design team worked their magic and developed a beautiful brand identity. With understated and muted shades, the logo features tasteful typography and hints at water, which is a big feature of the new spa.

Success

Everyone in the team at Trafford Leisure was delighted and excited with the branding. With the doors to the centre set to open in August, we were thrilled to attend a sneak preview tour of the new centre and see The Cove branding in situ in the beautiful new spa.
