The (eggstra) ordinary power of culture
If you’ve been following our LinkedIn lately, you’ll have seen a steady stream of eggs — painted, embellished, sculpted – and lovingly displayed as part of our Eggstraordinary Challenge. At first glance, it might all look a bit daft. Grown adults (nay, professional people) decorating eggs in their spare time? But there’s a serious side to this silliness.
Behind the paint, pipe cleaners, clay and cotton wool lies something we value deeply: culture.
Just like our previous internal competitions – which have included baking and photography showdowns – the Eggstraordinary Challenge has become a weekly talking point across the agency, sparking plenty of friendly rivalry.
Our weekly reveal and judging sessions have provided a chance to gather, laugh (a lot) and engage with each other. They’ve also unearthed hidden talents among the team that would otherwise have gone unnoticed.
Working in the creative industry, we already believe in the value of stepping away from our keyboards and monitors for some light-hearted distraction. It’s not time lost – it’s time well spent. It is replenishing and helps foster a healthy, happy culture which in turn fuels productivity and stronger collaboration.
And while our feed might seem lighter than usual these past few weeks, don’t be fooled — alongside these eggy endeavours, our team continues to manage LinkedIn accounts for clients in rather more serious sectors – you just won’t realise that we’ve written them! Which is a testament to what we do best: adapting our approach to suit the tone, audience and objectives at hand.
Great culture creates great work – if you’re looking for a team to bring creativity and energy to your internal comms projects, give us a call to see how we might be able to support.
