We started off by heralding the arrival of Slush Puppie Pouches in the retail trade press in a bid to secure listings. With distribution established, we turned our attention to driving consumer demand by announcing their availability in leading supermarkets in the national media (check out this great piece of coverage in the Metro!).
Keen to sustain interest beyond the initial launch, we produced a series of animated GIFS to attract attention on social media before creating a campaign that we knew would engage consumers by tapping into nostalgia.
With the offer of a prize for the winning entry, we asked people to share their happy memories of childhood on social media using the hashtag #TasteOfChildhood.
Playing on the same nostalgic theme, we also hired and wrapped a vintage VW Camper Van to attract attention and act as our base while we undertook product sampling.
The van and our irresistible ‘Pin the pouch on the pooch’ game attracted hundreds of people. Everyone was given a product sample and asked if they’d share their earliest memories of Slush Puppies on film.
The response was astounding. Social media posts came flooding in, as did heart-warming footage from people keen to share their love of Slush Puppies.
All of which provided a rich seam of content for us to post on You Tube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook … in short, Slush Puppie Pouches have well and truly arrived in the UK.
