Earlier this year, long-standing client Swizzels (think Love Hearts, Parma Violets, Drumsticks) launched a social media competition, asking people to share their summer snaps on social media for a chance to win a £5k holiday prize.

Naturally, we were called upon to help promote the competition.

Knowing that the national media don’t generally promote competitions, we had to get creative!

A couple of brainstorms later and we came up with the idea of launching a limited-edition, sweet-inspired, range of summer goodies including a 6ft Drumstick Lolly lilo, a Refreshers towel and Love Hearts water bottle. Absolute summer essentials!

Launching the unique range allowed us to open up conversations with bloggers and influencers while also securing valuable national media coverage with a huge reach.  

Publications such as the Metro (the UK’s highest circulation newspaper) featured the range, while this coverage in Pretty52 and Daily Record proved to be particularly effective at driving consumers to an ecommerce site where they could buy the products.
