Senior PR Account Executive (Consumer)

RMS is a creative communications agency working across consumer and corporate clients on a range of integrated, multi-channel campaigns. Are you looking for your next career step? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior PR Account Executive to join our Consumer PR team.

We are looking for a Senior PR Account Executive to work on a mix of consumer clients within the food and drink and FMCG sectors. You will have a passion for all things PR and have some experience of digital PR. You will be responsible for writing and securing our clients’ PR, creating relevant coverage, whether through creative or traditional PR campaigns, newsjacking and leveraging media contacts. As an experienced PR executive will also be responsible for content creation for client’s websites and press releases.

You will have a track record of implementing successful PR campaigns as part of your previous role and will be able to demonstrate that you had a positive impact on driving website traffic and sales.


  • Brainstorming campaign ideas
  • Implementing effective and highly targeted PR strategies
  • Nurturing and building new relationships with journalists and related media outlets
  • Researching trends and proactively pitching creative ideas to clients
  • Media monitoring for relevant opportunities for clients
  • Use of PR software databases, distribution and reporting platforms
  • Working with creative, design, development teams to develop campaigns
  • Promoting our clients’ content, pitch stories ideas to journalists, bloggers and influencers to gain media coverage
  • Hitting agreed client KPIs every month
  • Content campaign planning and implementation
  • Manage the creation of new website copy and writing press releases 
  • Outreaching campaigns and securing media coverage

The must-haves:

  • Minimum of 2 years in PR-related role, either in-house or agency side
  • Experience running consumer PR campaigns
  • Be creative and able to spot ideas and opportunities for clients and campaigns
  • An understanding of what makes a good news story 
  • A growing book of media contacts and influencers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience researching trends and competitors
  • A keen interest in digital marketing keeping up with all the latest news
  • Content & creative writing skills
  • Can work to deadlines and manage your own workload
  • Experience writing press releases 


  • Up to £25k + benefits based on experience
